Flexwing Aircraft Training

So you fancy yourself as a pilot?, well you have come to the right place.
Silver Fern Microlights Ltd is a well established one stop microlight flight centre.
We offer everything from a trial flight gift voucher to gaining your NPPL (National Private Pilots Licence), to your very own aircraft. Residential courses are available if you wish to do an intensive course.

Silver Fern Microlights Ltd operate from Sandtoft Airfield which is between Scunthorpe and Doncaster, just off the M180 J2. There are great facilities for all including a licensed cafe and bar, excellent indoor and outdoor viewing area and a huge selection of aircraft based there.

After your first flight you will probably be hooked, from here you can start your flight training. All instructors are CAA approved and will progress you through your training at a rate at which you learn at. There are 5 written exams which you will need to pass, this is usually done on a self study basis however if you wish one on one tuition is available. All exams are conducted in house and marked while you wait.

The flight training consists of general and advanced handling of the aircraft as well as navigation and radio telephony procedures.

We offer training on Weight shift and Fixed wing microlights and we have a fleet of three modern aircraft. Solo flying on school aircraft is available
